 Custom Clearance     (top)
 
Shipping your personal effects to Malaysia without consignee / owner of goods being present in Malaysia at time of Custom clearance is not a problem. The following documents are needed and copies should be sent or faxed to us ten days prior to arrival of the shipments in Malaysia.

1) Complete packing list
2) List of all electrical appliances
3) Goods should be consigned to shipper / owner ( as per passport)
4) Copy of passport shipper
5) Letter of authorization by shipper, allowing Intermovers & Storage Sdn. Bhd. to clear the shipment on his / her behalf.
6) Copy of "Bill of Lading" or Airway bill

Note: Marking on the original Bill of lading or Airway bill must show / be declared as "used household / personal effects"

 
 Restricted and Prohibited Items for Import into Malaysia     (top)
 
The import of alcohol is prohibited. Any alcohol discovered by Customs will be impounded, and the importer may be subject to a fine or heavy duties. Pornographic or obscene literature, video tapes or vcd / lcd will also be confiscated, with the importer again liable to a fine. Video tapes and vcd / lcd will be screened by the censorship board prior to release. There are also prohibitions on the import of foodstuffs, knives, firearms, ammunition and drugs. Customs have the right to make a full inspection of any shipment, and we strongly recommend that you do not attempt to import any prohibited items.

Note: Drug trafficking, possession of illegal firearms & ammunition carries the death penalty in Malaysia


 
Electrical Appliances     (top)
 
All electrical appliances entering Malaysia require an import permit issued by the National Electricity Board. We will apply for the permit on your behalf. A list of all electrical appliances being shipped with their make, model, country of origin, voltage and serial number information should be prepared and attached to your packing list or inventory.

 
Import of Motor Vehicles     (top)
 
Importing a motor vehicle into Malaysia is possible. However the owner must be in the country and apply personally with the Ministry of Trade and Industry for an import permit. The following documents are needed: ownership of vehicle certificate, insurance certificate used in country of origin and proof of purchase or invoice. Vehicle is subject to duties. Do not ship until import permit is approved. Regulations may be subject to change, please fax or email us for more details


 
 Import of Pets     (top)
 

For all pets imported, a quarantine period of 7 days applies. The following documents are required: Health certificate and government's vaccination certificate of country of origin, Name of pet's owner, Name of pet, and it's age, breed, colour as well as flight details. Please notify well in advance (minimum one week notice) in order to book kennel / quarantine space.

Both air and sea shipments should be consigned as follows:
